Bio-Concepts

Graduated compression vascular stockings have been recommended by doctors for over 40 years and worn by millions of patients. That's why you should be confident that your doctor has recommended this product.

These graduated compression vascular stockings can help your legs by helping the veins do their work. They not only give your leg muscles an invigorating little massage as you move, but also help your blood get to where it's supposed to go. That can also help your legs feel better.

Getting The Blood Moving Better

There are two kinds of blood vessels in your body's circulation:

1) Arteries
2) Veins

For the most part, arteries carry blood from the heart to the rest of the body. The walls of the arteries are thicker than the walls of the veins and actually help the heart to pump the blood by squeezing or contracting, much like you would squeeze a tube of toothpaste, only much more gently and faster.

Veins, on the other hand, have thinner walls and don't do any pumping. They do, however, have a set of small valves. These valves open when the blood is pushed past them and close, after each heartbeat, to stop the blood from rushing backwards or downwards in the case of the legs. Sometimes, these valves become damaged and don't do their job very well. That's where graduated compression vascular stockings come in.

These help to return the blood back to the heart by gently compressing your leg muscles, which gently squeeze the veins and help push the blood in the right direction.

Designed to treat primary or secondary lymphedema of the hand and arm, Mediven lymphedema sleeves - available in arm sleeve, gauntlet or combination style - offer precise therapeutic compression, comfort, easy care, and durability.

Manufactured in a choice of Class 1 or Class 2 compression grades, Garments are sleeves are formulated to encourage lymph flow by increasing muscle pumping efficiency and corresponding tissue pressure.  Mediven sleeves are an effective treatment for primary lymphedema patients, as well as those experiencing lymphedema following mastectomy, radiotherapy, cellulitis, trauma or surgery.  Garment sleeves are also useful in burn therapy, blood poisoning, tennis elbow and edema caused by immobility following a stroke or cast application.

The Proper Care of Your Stockings

The most important thing to remember is to take care of yourself. But, you should also remember to take care of your stockings. Hand or machine wash with warm water, Jolastic Washing Solution, mild soap or detergent. No chlorine bleach. Warm water rinse. Do not machine dry. That's all. No difficult instruction. With a few pairs, you can wear one, have one in the laundry, and one pair in the drawer.

Circ Aid Stockingscirc

Adjustable, Sustainable Compression Promotes Healing and Patient Autonomy.

The CircAidŽ Compression Bandage system is a breakthrough technology in compression therapy.  CircAid's exclusive interlocking, non-elastic bands provide the constant compression and gradient counterpressure that helps move fluids and nutrition through the lower extremities.  CircAid is easy to put on and adjust, so patients wear CircAid longer and more often.  The result is improved circulation, fast healing and more comfortable, independent patients.

Bullet Point.JPG (1152 bytes) Durable, non-elastic materials never lose compression like stockings.
Bullet Point.JPG (1152 bytes) Adjustable, interlocking bands mean proper compression is easily sustained regardless of changes in limb size or physical activity.
Bullet Point.JPG (1152 bytes) VelcroŽ fasteners make legging easy to put on, take off and adjust without assistance.

For us, the pressure is always on.

We understand the challenges of living with a circulation disorder.  And CircAid is the only compression system that answers these challenges successfully.  Our patented Velcro bands are proven to greatly increase patient autonomy and compliance.   Our innovative, adjustable, non-elastic materials sustain compression, promoting healing rates that are significantly faster than traditional methods.  Traditional compression therapy asks a lot of the patient.  With CircAid, the pressure to aid in healing is on us, and off the patient.  Go to CircAid Comparison Graph.

CircAid results speak for themselves

Time after time, independent studies show that CircAid technology is much more efficient than other compression techniques in promoting healing and improving quality of life.  So when it comes to showing how effective CircAid is, don't just listen to us.   Listen to doctors like one professor of surgery who called CircAid "the most important new change in therapy for venous and lymphatic disease in the last quarter century."  Or listen to patients whose lives have been changed by the flexibility and healing only CircAid can deliver.

Don't Stop With Stockings...Be Kind To Your Legs

There are additional things you can do to make your legs feel better, as well as wearing graduated compression vascular stockings:

space Put your stocking on as soon as possible in the morning. You'll be less likely to have swelling and discomfort.
space When resting, keep your legs elevated higher than the heart. That will help the blood return to your heart
Bullet Point.JPG (1152 bytes) Avoid standing for prolonged periods of time
space Keep your legs warm in cold weather or during the evening hours whether you're standing or just relaxing in front of the television or reading a book
Bullet Point.JPG (1152 bytes) Don't cross your legs when sitting down. It reduces circulation
space If you often ride in a car, be sure to stop and walk for five minutes or so every hour you're travelling
